According to his obituary hosted by the Gary L. Kaufman Funeral Home at Meadowridge Memorial Park, on Monday, October 19, 2015, John “Big John” Warren Merson, Jr. of Elkridge, MD. Beloved husband of Judy M. Merson. Loving father of John W. Merson, III and his wife Heather Ann and Julie M. Merson. Brother of Jill Cassell, Joyce Nichols, Jason Merson and the late Jeff Merson; brother-in-law of Denise Merson. Devoted grandfather of Courtney, John, IV, Rebecca and Ryan Merson. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Merson was a Life Member of the Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department, he was retired from the Baltimore County Fire Department and retired from the Howard County Parks and Recreation, devoting many years with Rockburn Park.

Mr. Merson also served his country with honor as a Sargeant in the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.

Funeral Services were held on Thursday, October 22, 2015 at 10:00 am. Interment was at Meadowridge Memorial Park, Elkridge, MD.
