Elkridge Trivia Night and More

As renovations wind down on the Brumbaugh House, and work continues on designing new interpretive displays, we are having another fundraiser to help cover our utility costs. We are very excited to announce our first Elkridge Trivia Night at Daniels! It will be $40 per 4-person team, and the winning team gets half the entrance fees received! This is going to be fun, and the questions will be Elkridge-centric! Mark your calendar. It will start at 5pm, Sunday July 13, 2025, at Daniels (5854 Washington Blvd, Elkridge).

We can only accept cash or PayPal on the day of the event. You may pay ahead of time at https://elkridgeheritage.org/donate/ – just email us at [email protected] of your intentions for your donation.

Soon we will announce our next historical presentation, to be centered around the Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department, at the Fire Department, and FINALLY, our Open House which we hope to have in September!

Meanwhile, please consider the following announcements from our partner organizations:

  • The Patapsco Heritage Greenway is excited to be hosting our Second Collaborative Open House event with Nike Missile Site BA-79. Self-guided tours (above-ground) and guided tours (below-ground in magazines) will be available throughout the day. A variety of local groups will have tables with information about their programs and events located inside the Civil Air Patrol Headquarter building. Also inside, we will be showing a running historical video about the Nike Missile Base BA-79. You can find more information and the link to register for the event HERE.

  • Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum invites you to their Juneteenth Celebration, Thursday, June 19th, 2025 from 3pm-8pm at the Benjamin Banneker historical Park and Museum.

  • Also, there will be Benjamin Banneker’s Birthday Market Fair, Saturday, November 1st, 2025 from 10am-4pm at the Benjamin Banneker Historical Park and Museum.

  • Finally, the Howard County Historical Society is seeking community input on its organization, programs, and fundraisers. We want to hear from you! This brief survey will help us to gain a better understanding of the needs of both county residents and those who participate in our events. It will really help us out AND you might win a gift certificate to a local business. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME! Anyone is welcome to take the survey – you do not need to live in Howard County, be a HCHS member, or have attended our events before. Please complete the survey here:  https://forms.gle/YnR7z44rxveJjsJx8
