Elkridge: Crossroads of Revolution

May 9 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Free

As part of the “Howard County 250” project, in which Howard County celebrates America’s 250th anniversary, we are having a celebration of Elkridge, and its role in many revolutions: The Industrial Revolution, The American Revolution, and many other re-inventions of Elkridge over time.

We plan to provide lunch, and time for mingling, and then Tina Barton will give an introduction, Robert Bailey, Maryland Park historian, will discuss our industrial and Revolutionary War themes, and then Craig Pool will wrap up and describe Elkridge today and how we are moving forward.

The event will take up two park shelters in Patapsco: 104 and 105. The smaller shelter will have booths for other organizations to share materials, and the larger shelter will hold our lunch and speaking events.

Weather permitting, Robert Bailey will lead a history walk in the afternoon.

The event is free, but we ask you to register so we know how much food to bring. Also the park can fill up and parking is limited to 50 spaces. We ask you to carpool, and for the driver to do the “add-on” parking ticket in the event registration below.
