SUMMARY:Dedication of Lafayette Tree at the Brumbaugh House
DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to announce the Marker Placement and Dedication Ceremony for our Lafayette Tree. \nSunday\, September 13\, at 2pm. \nIn June\, 2026\, the DAR planted a sapling that was grown from a cutting of a “Witness Tree” (a tree at least 300 years old) that was on the Brandywine Battlefield in Pennsylvania. The legend states that Lafayette was injured and rested under the tree. \nThe DAR is having a plaque made and it will be installed\, and a dedication ceremony\, to include a Color Guard\, will occur at 2pm on September 13. \nSpace is limited. We will be creating an Eventbrite event to track RSVPs\, but until we do so\, contact elkridgeheritage@gmail.com to RSVP and we will register you with Eventbrite when we have it ready. \n
