As many of you know, our dear friend and long-time EHS treasurer Rita Chelton passed away peacefully in her home on July 5, 2024. It’s hard to believe that she is gone. She came to the Daniels event we had in January and was her usual cheerful, playful self. She faithfully kept the EHS financial books for us from 2011 until last Fall, when she happily passed the baton to Bill Evans, our new treasurer. She was the one who kept on top of things for EHS and sounded the alarm when the last of our coffers dried up last summer. Her sense of humor and her never-ending amiability were a bright spot in some rough times with our organization, especially during the pandemic. She inspired us to rebuild the organization and get back on track. We miss her more than words can express. In fact, I personally have been in denial all month.
