EHS Election Night Meeting, 7pm Tuesday Nov 7, 2023

Hello!

We have collected exactly one candidate for each of 3 of our board positions. I consider those positions as closed and set.

There is still no secretary (there are actually two secretary positions: recording secretary and corresponding secretary), so as the most recent Corresponding Secretary, I can fill in as acting secretary until we find someone else (I will continue as webmaster but I need to give up the secretary role).

We will hold our first meeting with the new board this coming Tuesday at 7pm at the Carriage House behind the Brumbaugh House (5825 Main Street, Elkridge).

All are welcome to come and give input to the board and show support, and if some more secretary candidates apply, then we can vote. Right now it stands as thus:

President: Craig Pool – Craig is an engineer responsible for major building projects in the area, including Guinness. As you may well imagine, his skills will be excellent for leadership in maintaining the Brumbaugh House, and his standing as a lifelong Elkridge Resident will provide much needed insight and connections.

Vice President: Nikki Marlatt-Young – Nikki has already helped us with things like the renovation of the carriage house, digitization of some of our photographs, and social media outreach to name a few. She comes to us with lifelong residence between Elkridge, Jessup and Arbutus, and very valuable experience with home inspections and community service. She will be an energetic and valuable leader for EHS.

Treasurer: Bill Evans – Bill and his wife used to own Signarama, renovated/created our current Brumbaugh and Carriage House signs, and will be invaluable in helping to stage the Brumbaugh house with interpretive signage. Furthermore Bill has experience as treasurer for a nonprofit, and serving on the board of the Maryland Military Historical Society.

I think this is a strong board and bodes well for the future of EHS. I hope to see some of you on Tuesday.

Tina Barton, EHS Webmaster
