  • School Proposal Rejected: The Greater Elkridge Community Association voted against endorsing the Howard County Housing Commission’s plan to renovate the old Elkridge Elementary School building.

  • Dave Grabowski Grand Marshal in EVFD Parade Culprits Caught: Dave Grabowski, a dedicated community member, will be the Grand Marshal in the Elkridge Volunteer Fire Department’s annual parade.  
  • First Anniversary: Elkridge 21075: Elkridge is celebrating the first anniversary of having its own ZIP code.  
  • Red Light Cameras Offering Little Complaint: Despite 1,800 citations issued, less than 2% of violators have opted to go to court, and those who did were mostly complimentary about the program.  
  • Four Elkridge Students Win National Award: Four sixth-grade students from Mayfield Woods Middle School received an international science award for their invention idea.  
  • Elkridge Firm to Work on Poplar Island Restoration: A local Elkridge company won the bid for the first phase of construction in the restoration of Poplar Island in the Chesapeake Bay.  
  • Eagle Scout Featured in Bay Magazine: Brent Miller, a Bonnie Branch Road resident, received his Eagle Scout Award and was featured in a Chesapeake Bay sailing magazine for his oyster filter feeder project.  
  • Troy Hill Facility Now Leasing: The Troy Hill warehouse and distribution facility is now leasing space.  
  • **Update on Matters of Concern from Delegate Malone…:**A grate is working at the CSX overpass.  
  • Kudos to St. Augustine’s Band: The St. Augustine’s School band performed in an archdiocesan competition and received a #2 rating.  
  • Quilters Raffle to Benefit Food Pantry: The Elkridge Evening Quilters are raffling a quilt to raise proceeds for the Elkridge Food Pantry.
