On April 14, 2026, we emailed the voting membership the by-laws approved by the Board. The membership had until April 30 to respond. All who responded accepted them. There was a question about how committee chairpersons are selected, which has never come up because we have no official chairpersons. We will revisit this the next time we revise the bylaws, probably in 2028.

The description of the “Board” has been added and we can now have four at-large board members. The officers have identified Tina Barton as one with webmaster expertise, and Mary Bahr as one with archival expertise. We would love to have two more. Please consider who you would nominate. One gap we have is a robust history of black citizens and black business owners in Elkridge so it would be amazing to have someone with an interest in that. We welcome other suggestions.

The bylaws also clarify that the treasurer can delegate tax filing to another board member, and Tina Barton has volunteered to be that board member.

We also need chairpersons, and of particular need are these: programs chair (events), membership chair, and finance/fundraising chair.
